Perennial herbaceous species, rustic, about 60 cm tall, with semi-shrub and erect stems, present in dry and sunny terrains. The leaves are lanceolate dotted with translucent glands that look pierced when viewed against the light. The yellow flowers are of elliptical shape, often asymmetric and have tiny dark glands along the edges. The petals are characterized by a yellow colorant, while the pigments in its stigmas are a red colour.
